Infrastructure Projects –
Expert Reviews –
Flooding and Hydrology Issues
The firm provides due diligence services and expert
independent reviews of major infrastructure projects where
flooding and hydrology are key concerns.
Bewshers are well placed to undertake these reviews because
of their extensive experience in completing floodplain risk
management studies and flood studies, and their knowledge of
floodplain development best practice across Australia.
Major infrastructure projects undertaken by Bewshers, most
of which were commissioned by the NSW or Queensland State
Governments, have included:
- independent hydrology review for the Tillegra Dam proposal in the Hunter Valley, NSW
- upgrades of numerous sections of the Pacific Highway
where flooding impacts were major concerns
- flooding and hydrology assessment of the EIS for the
Traveston Crossing Dam project in the Mary River Valley,
Queensland
- assessment of the flooding impacts associated with the
second crossing of the Clarence River at Grafton, NSW
- independent peer reviews of flooding and hydrology impacts within various EISs for the Inland Rail Project in western NSW. These projects involved infrastructure crossings of nearly all western flowing rivers in NSW including the following Inland Rail sectors:- Parkes to Narromine, Illaboo to Stockinbingal, Narromine to Narrabri, Narrabri to North Star, and North Star to the NSW/Queensland Border
- hydrological impacts associated with the major pipeline
projects proposed for water supply to Broken Hill (from
the Murray River) and to Orange (from the Macquarie River)
